What is the approximate number of “slots” available on an annual basis for Ivy League swim teams?

It looks like most of the swim rosters have about 10 freshman on each of the mens and womens swim teams. I’ll say 3/4 are recruited so my guess is 7 or 8 swimming slots.

^ That sounds about right, but it will surely vary by college, stroke, and year. Count on Yale to have the fewest slots.

You could ask outright-some coaches will tell you. Amherst has 4 for men AND women TOTAL, so an Ivy might have more. Coaches sometimes bargain with admissions to use a slot for next year “this once” in the NESCAC, in my experience

And, at least at Kiddo’s Ivy, the diver spots come out of the total swim team spots. So. . . . there may be at least one given to the diving coach to allocate, sometimes more.

^^^“Diver” is still a swimmer in regards to slots. In Nescacs, there are anywhere from 0-7 divers(men and women) and some are not recruited, but “enlisted”.
