ivy transfers

hi,

i was just wondering what ivys are transfer friendly…after one year? (sorry if this has already been asked)

cornell and brown are transfer friendly…and yes, this has already been asked…and i think its late to ask this question now…

sorry a/b the repeat. im asking for next year. im not really happy with the choices that im left with…so im trying to keep my options open…in case i dont fall in love with my school next year, i want to be prepared for a transfer to another school.
thanks for the reply

UPenn is not too bad either.

what do u mean by u are not happy? Does ur coll not have the program u want, or are u simply talking abt reputation?..it seems like u are a freshman (obviously somebody wont talk abt transfer without even gtting in one) … and looking for a junior standing after transfer…hmm…u have options open, take as many courses in the field of ur desired major during the sophomore year…that will help a lot…

by the way, what type of school are u in rite now?

well…im a senior in high school. i know there’s a chance that ill love my school next year but just in case i dont i want to make sure i wont have any trouble transferring. i will probably end up at a small school in virginia because thats where i have the highest chance of thriving. it isnt a bad school but their science program isn’t as strong as i’d like. b/c its a smaller school that isn’t as well known…it’s limited in the amount of internships and study abroad programs that it can offer. also its in a rural community which also limits what is available. i wanted to go to an urban area where more opportunities are available. again, i know that i might end up loving it next year and decide to not transfer…but in case i dont i want to be able to transfer.

p.s. if i decide to transfer it will be after freshman year, for sophmore standing…unless i can get credit from ap/ib tests.

Are you only looking at ivys? There are a lot of urban schools like NYU, USC, etc that are fairly transfer friendly and are still VERY good, even if they arent ivys. Apply to a few ivys (the ones that are a fit for you) and some other schools too. But even if you didnt get into your first choice school, chances are you’ll love the place you’re at. Don’t they something like “60% of people get into their first choice school but 98% are AT their first choice school by November”. Good luck! ^_^

Non-Ivy schools don’t matter. :D

yeah i applied to nyu for fall 2006 and didnt get in. im not really sure where i want to transfer but nyu is def. among those schools…the more that i look at these posts the more i get a little ahead of myself and i figured why not and ivy? soo, this is just to kind of see what’s out there if i do decide to transfer. thanks for the advice :)

What would be good for someone who wants to transfer into an Ivy after one year? Obviously a good GPA but what else? What kind of ECs?

buummmpppppp.

bump bump bump. im wondering a/b the ECs also…
