<p>Hi, well based on your username I’m assuming you’re a Dartmouth alum. That’s really one of my top choice schools and I was wondering if my high school will affect my chances. Right now I’m a junior and based on what I read in CC I should be taking 5-6 APs, but my school doesn’t offer any until senior year and even then there’s only 3. Its a tiny k-12 with barely 400 kids. About 30 kids in my grade. I have taken a bunch of college classes but there are none in math and science (my main interests). Also, due to the limited available classes I actually am only taking 3 years of high school ( this is my second so its my equivalent of junior year). Is this helping or hurting me? I thought it showed initiative since I am basically taking everything my school has to offer than looking for more, but others have said colleges look down on early grads, opinions?</p>

<p>Speaking purely logically, I don’t see how you can be blamed for going to a school with fewer resources than say a tony private school. Whoever said you’d be “looked down” upon is clueless. What is the basis for such an assertion? You’ve done all you can. Hang your hat on that.</p>
<p>Thank you very much. One last question: do you have any knowledge on the astronomy and/or physics and/or chemistry departments in Dartmouth? I know the astro program is new and I was wondering if you could comment on how it compares to other top schools.</p>
<p>Will a 33(.25) ACT hurt chances of being accepted to an ivy league?</p>
<p>These are the questions I hear high school seniors ask about interviews:</p>
<p>(1) What does the interviewer know about the applicant prior to the interview – i.e. grades, standard test results, essays, prospective major, and so on?</p>
<p>(2) How familiar is the interviewer with the high school that the applicant attends?</p>
<p>(3) Is it a good idea for the applicant to bring a resume? Or is the resume a distraction? If a resume is a good idea how long should it be and what should it contain? Can you provide a rough template for a good resume?</p>
<p>(4) Does the interviewer provide feedback back to the college regarding the applicant, and if so in what form?</p>
<p>(5) What does the interviewer expect of the applicant – particularly in “preparation” for the interview? Or is preparation not necessary?</p>
<p>(6) Is there a genuine possibility for followup after the interview?</p>
<p>(7) What’s the short list of questions that you ask?</p>
<p>(8) What are the type of questions that candidates ask that are turnoffs to you?</p>
<p>(9) How do you signal to candidates that a question has been answered, or will not be answered?</p>
<p>(10) How do you signal to the candidate that the interview is over?</p>
