for audition what do they make you sing? Do they make you sightread? How hard is it to make it?

email jabberwocks and ask

For every a cappella audition, they ask you to prepare a verse and a chorus of a song that shows off range, control, personality etc. You will be asked to match pitches that are played on a piano (ranging from 3 random pitches to 5-6 pitches in an order), and you will be asked to do scales to see how high (or how low) you can sing. These are preliminary auditions, and they take no more than 5 minutes for each singer. Since you seem like you are planning on auditioning, I suggest you audition for as many groups as possible, because once you audition and get called-back, it becomes partly YOUR choice whether you want to be in that group or not (in other words, don’t limit yourself).
