<p>UCSD picked the top 100 applicants, screened them, selected and extended the Jacobs Scholarships to 48. They hope to get a yield of 10 Jacobs Scholars per year. They get 8-12 depending on year. As for external scholarship money (i.e. National Merit, California Governor Scholarship, etc.) they can displace some of that full ride money into your pocket – spend it for Summer school, a new computer, whatever…Just remember to save some to pay federal and state taxes. ;-(</p>
