I am committed to Bridgewater State University but received a call yesterday I was accepted off of the waitlist for James Madison University. I am now torn between the two and wonder if the traveling and extra expense is worth it. I feel drawn to JMU but feel hesitant regarding the distance from MA to VA and the cost of airfare. Thoughts of anyone who went to a long distance school?
What is your proposed major? I don’t think there’s an airport within two hours but if you can bus or train to BWI its pretty inexpensive to get to PVD or BOS and its just an hour flight. I paid $82 RT in February from Boston. Is there a big price difference?
I would be majoring in english (not to be a teacher) possibly with a minor in communications. JMU would be around $34K plus airfare and Bridgewater would be around $20K, so a pretty significant difference. i’m fairly close to Logan Airport in BOS but it looks like the closest airport to JMU is around an hour away.
