Forget hotels, you can sleep in your car if necessary. It’s the restaurant reservations that should be keeping you up at night.

I’ve been doing this for 6 years. Once I determine what days the restaurants start taking reservations for Parents Weekend I can post that info here.
To add on to this bandwagon, I also looked at past IG posts to figure out when I thought first-year move might be in August 2024 and booked hotel rooms. 
I was worried about that and hadn’t even considered parents weekend! But I had heard that coming the weekend before or after parents weekend was fun, too. And more time with your kiddo.

It is a safe bet that freshman move in will be Friday, August 16th and Saturday, August 17th. The school will issue you a date, you don’t get to choose.
Out of curiosity, how many schools is everyone still waiting to hear from?
Assuming the JMU decisions release today, my son is still waiting to hear from University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, University of North Carolina, University of Michigan, and Clemson.

For my son it is: JMU, Virginia Tech, Indiana (deferred, EA), Colorado (deferred, EA)
Accepted to URI, UNH, Univ of Cincinnati, and College of Charleston
Not accepted to main campus at PITT and PSU
a diverse list I know. Daughter attends JMU currently and likes it very much.

What is the latest they have sent out info? I feel like we would have heard by now.
My son got accepted at Michigan State too but JMU is first choice because it’s in-state.

Top choices for my dtr are U of SC and Clemson, both deferred, hence other thread…we are moving to SC…she would be happy at JMU, no doubt, so TBD!
Deferred.
Definitely not the decision I was expecting considering he has already been accepted at Pitt (main campus), Penn State (main campus), WVU, VCU, George Mason, and Mary Washington. Best of luck to everyone!
