James Madison University Early Action for Fall 2024 Admissions

If you would prefer that they pick JMU then send them to Choices. They do a great job of selling the place. My daughter decided for JMU next day.

It says on the website that music reflects the same time period as admissions decisions.

Son admitted in-state.

Anything more you can tell us about how that day works? We just signed up for the 3/2 date.

We are still waiting on VT. Are you in-state? VT is a real laggard on my project plan  !

Yes we are in state. My daughter got accepted December 22nd. No merit though timm March. She got into all EA schools she applied to except 1 (Clemson differed her). JMU and Tech are the only two that didn’t include merit in the offer letters though.

Admitted. In state. 3.9W. It doesn’t list business major or anything on letter? Anyone know where we can find out if he was admitted to his major???

Buried under the CVPA Admissions Frequently Asked Questions - JMU they have this: “For the performing arts, if you attended an audition in November, there’s a possibility you’ll learn your artistic admissions decision at the same time as your Early Action admissions decision. All artistic decisions will be released around March 1st (for students admitted academically during Early Action), or when you find out your academic admissions decision (for students who deferred admission in Early Action or who applied during Regular Decision).” It’s very confusing, but sounds like only some EA applicants who auditioned/interviewed in November will find out when they get the academic decision and all others will hear by March 1. Fingers crossed for you.

Thank you so much.

AP and honors classes makes one wonder if there wasn’t a processing error somewhere? Check with your high school to be sure there isn’t a problem with your transcript. Admissions Office might have erred somewhere as well. If you had decent grades for Fall Semester, then that should be part of any appeal. Good luck.

Congrats! My son was also deferred from Clemson & USCC, but got a direct admit to Purdue!

27,000 EA apps. Does anyone know what it was last year?

I just spoke to them and Honors College will submit decisions by next week

We were told for Clemson they were working on their in-state numbers. Their ratios where off when we asked. So for out of state they only took 1 student per school and it was the top student that applied from that school. They said more student should receive acceptance come the February Decision date.

That’s from last year they haven’t released this year’s number of apps.

Strange. Do we just assume they got into their major?
