Where can I find this exactly? Are you meaning on an Instagram page? Or on this website? What is the official name of the forum?
Thanks so much!

We logged into portal and it asked we update our SSN b/c we did not provide SSN in the common app (as we didnt think we’d qualify for financial aid). The link said the SSN was not in the application when they processed our application and they need it before classes start for a federal form, etc. I assume this is a good sign for us. Anyone have this request to add your SSN?

I did not see no request for the SSN and through the portal I have not seen any updates yet :frowning:

We have this too, but as a link from an email that was sent out in November-? We also are not doing the FAFSA, so I guess we missed the email.

At another college we were sent an email requesting SS# b/c they said that’s how they identify students. We filled in the SS# and received and acceptance the next week.

Hard to read the tea-leaves on this one!

We had that a few days after we submitted the application.

This is what the to-do list in the portal said for our SSN. That they use it to add to the application for identification purposes; as if the name wasn’t good enough. :joy: Kidding! :grinning:

I didn’t recall seeing it before but when we updated it today it said something about not having ssn when they processed our application — past tense

I’m not keen on entering SS#s anywhere. As an admitted student I’ll allow it, but for an application to buy a product…nah.

I agree! My daughter applied at East Tennessee State University, who has rolling admission. She received her acceptance letter in November. However, JMU is her first choice.

fingers are crossed for a release tomorrow

Snow delay may mean decision delay:
Due to the inclement weather, James Madison University will open at 12 p.m. today, Jan. 16.

There were several reports on FB of students having accidents last night. Our son, who is used to driving in snow, said it was really hard to get around last night.

Yes! My son texted me and he said they may just close. It’s still bad. I’m doubtful now that it will be today.

I’m assuming the process is automated behind the scenes so if it’s today it’s already been “set up” to go out at a specific time .

I’m all out of kids to send to JMU, but I’m still excited for you all.

This is our last one so we are hopeful she can join her brother at JMU…

I was thinking the same. You’d think they’ve been double and triple checking for days that they have the correct decision loaded into each portal. Maybe they got that done on Friday and then it was just a matter of picking the launch date and time. On the other hand, today could’ve been the day for that last check, which would mean a delay. Who knows? If it doesn’t happen by about 9pm, then I guess we’ll know today won’t be the day.
