Adding the word “late” in there seems to indicate they are potentially thinking next week (jan 23 or 25?) instead of this week, because why would they add that word in if they were still planning Jan 16 or 18? But fingers crossed.
We have nothing ! Same old portal
Same here. My portal is still the same.
same. rly was hoping it was coming today.
I don’t know what time they came out prior to last year. 11:30 is a strange time, IMO. Seems thoughtless to send them out during the school day and cause kids to be constantly checking their portals in class. Maybe JMU decided they would do it in the evenings, as many other schools do.
At this rate I think they are just going to post decisions next week ![]()
This whole process is stressful for everyone involved….I really wish they gave everyone a definite date and if they needed to push it back tell us and we would understand…but this not knowing us the absolute worst! I feel horrible for the kids (and parents)
Someone posted earlier that 2022 and 2021 were 3:00 pm postings.
I like that much more than 11:30 (plus it gives us more hope for today)!
I went to JMU web site and they are closed today due to inclement weather. I guess we will all have to wait for another day. I’m usually a patient person but when you have high hopes and dreams for your child it can get nerv racking. Good luck to all.
In 2022 the Instagram announcement came at 3:00, but the portal actually updated around 2:00.
The admissions staff doesn’t have to be on site to push your button to push out the acceptances.
To push a button and push out acceptances ![]()
I agree. Most businesses that are closed for snow ask their employees to work from home. Admissions staff should be able to do whatever they have to do from home. In fact, I think at many schools the admissions team often logs in from home.
I’ve been checking my portal non stop lol. I hope it comes out today
Couldn’t they add “potential applicants should stop refreshing the page, it’s not happening today…” ![]()
Wait until everyone finds out at the same time and crashes the portal.
It is so nice when the schools say “check your portal after 3pm on XX/XX”. Not sure why they need to add MORE stress to this process with the unknown. If it’s not “rolling” and everyone finds out the same day, just announce the time/day. ![]()
They’re managing expectations. Missing a deadline is a bad look. Over the last few years applications have been increasing substantially. I’m sure they’re giving themselves some flexibility to get things done.
If that’s the case, then why not just make the EA decision date January 31 and be done with it?
