GeekSon got a job offer for a CS / programming internship at Jane Street Capital, apparently very difficult to get in at. The company and salary both look beyond amazing. I see people talking about it, but I can’t see anywhere if anyone had an internship there and any experiences. Does anyone know anything about this company?

Thanks!

Congratulations to your son, GeekMom!! That is a very prestigious honor, particularly for a sophomore!! And yes, they pay their interns very, very well.

I know very little but from my understanding, they are a trading firm with a unique vision. Do some reading from their website; that should help shed a little light.

My son’s friend had a winternship there, but I don’t know anything more than that.

Way to go, Geek Son!! :-)

I know a few who interviewed there, but didn’t get it. They’re going to the likes of Google and Amazon instead. So, yes, it’s very competitive. And as with any ultracompetitive company like that, I’m sure it’s hard work but they take care of their employees.

Did you check Glassdoor?

Thanks for the info! I had not seen Glassdoor - that’s cool. Thanks.
