<p>I have gotten a few of these. Why they all want to ship to Nigeria? If they paid me in paypal, what is the problem sending my DSLR over with signature required and enough insurance?</p>
<p>I did check my real paypal account and there is a way to send an invoice to any other paypal account.</p>
<p>Just in case you’re not familiar with this sort of thing it is a scam. Any time the word Nigeria is involved it is absolutely a scam. Best case scenario is they get your camera and charge back on paypal, who will then take your money away. Worst case the scammers convince you to pay a bunch of duty fees etc. and milk you for even more money. If you see the word Nigeria STAY. AWAY.</p>
<p>Are you kidding? Nigeria is the land of opportunity! As a matter of fact, I’m expecting to retire on the $30,000,000 finder’s fee I’m getting from a former Nigerian government official. They said it should arrive any day now.</p>
<p>All that oil money must be like bees to nectar; Nigeria just seems to produce persistent, but not so clever, scammers.</p>

<p>Nigerian deals are well publicized as scams. Don’t take a chance, Dad2.</p>
<p>If you are thinking about doing it, set up a paypal account with a disposable e-mail address. Don’t link it to any of your credit cards or bank accounts. If you do have to link it to a credit card, then use a disposable credit card number. Have them send you the money. Withdraw the money from Paypal. Cash the check. Then, and only then, ship it, with some type of delivery confirmation.</p>
<p>That way, if there is some type of charge back, it is paypal’s problem, not yours. Only when paypal has gotten stuck with enough of these will they implement ways to prevent them from doing it in the future.</p>
<p>Also, if they “inadvertently” over pay you through paypal, they will ask you to send the “overpayment” via western union. Take the “overpayment”, and wait until they accept the package before sending the money back. And, when you send it back, send it back through paypal.</p>
<p>Oh no. I just sent $500 to secure release of $12,000,000 currently being held in Customs. I’VE BEEN PROMISED HALF! Are you saying this was a scam??? Audiophile? UCSD<em>UCLA</em>Dad? Can either of you make this $6M good from your $30M shares???</p>

<p>Janet Jackson is a fairly common name. This one might not be the big celebrity singer that you associate with that name. I sold my house to a big name celebrity and it worked out fine.</p>
<p>I received an email from a wonderful Nigerian who was romantically interested in me. Yes that happens quite often. It’s the beauty of my words the quality of my speling that makes me such a catch. Because of the depth and trust of our relationship, the Nigerian wanted me to cash a certified payroll check and send the money back to Nigeria. It’s just a simple loving task. Unfortunately, someone suddenly close all of the banks in my state and I could not grant the Nigerian’s request. When I informed the Nigerian of this, my one true love was heart broken and our relationship could not handle the strain so it ended. I am still overwhelmed by the loss of my one true Nigerian love. I think I’m gonna start crying again …</p>
<p>NJres … did the big name celebrity ask you to accept a money order from Nigeria for several hundred thousand more than the selling price and send the change back via Western Union?</p>

<p>You should get the certified check real soon. I just deposited mine into my bank account. The bank said it would take a few weeks to clear the foreign check. The check also included their $10,000 fee. They asked if I could send them their fee by western union.</p>
