January 2010 SAT Results Thread

Now if I get a score <750 on any section in the March SAT, I’m going to feel like a failure because of this thread.

I’m gonna join on the minority of <700 scores here…

CR: 630 (considering sub-600 scores on practice tests I’m thankful for this though.)
Math: 540 (again, good considering the practice tests and skipping 4 questions in one section.)
Writing: 620 and 8 essay (Okay, the multiple choice part was my fault for not studying (being so concerned with CR)… BUT AN 8 ESSAY?! It was a 10 for sure.)

First time taking it as a junior, and I’m retaking this at least once more… if nothing else than to get that 10 essay :P

Silverturtle how did you score so high on the critical reading section? What materials did you use and what it exactly did you do. Thanks for the help. I score well on Math but my cr and wr could use help.

630 cr
770 m
620 w

660 CR
800 Math
750 WR (78 MC, 8 essay)

Total: 2210 (Pathetic on CC)

Extremely disappointed by my CR score, was expecting 700+ after reading the consolidated answers on CC. But still, it improved significantly from my 196 Oct. PSAT

I was excited about my 2320 until i read through this thread
The scores I’m seeing here make me want to retake for a 2400 superscore -___-

W - 770/12 essay
M - 770
CR - 730
2270

should i retake?

Can someone please clarify for me once and for all if you can send separate parts of the SAT to colleges? Let’s say I took the SAT 3 times and had the highest scores (CR, Math, Writing) all spread out on different tests. What exactly do colleges allow you to do?

@amaaayzing: Depends on the college - some allow it, some don’t. What you describe is termed ‘superscoring’.

CR: 670
M: 800
W: 700

Total: 2170… Very happy! Although it seems as if most people on this forum would die of embarrassment if they received a 2170. Hmm, maybe my standards are low.

Congrats everyone!

I did terribly!
CR: 720
M: 610
W: 660
(MC: 67, Essay: 8)
Total: 1990

I’m doing it again but I’m cutting myself some slack since it was my first time, I didn’t study at all, and I didn’t take any prep classes.
Also, extremely frustrating since my goal was to hit 2000!
Good job everyone!

I am content with this score, yet I may take it again:

Critical Reading: 740
Math: 790
Writing: 790 (Essay: 11)

Total: 2320

Comments: Good luck to everybody! This is hopefully a good enough score to get into an Ivy! :D

2040 EPIC FAIL
I’m so jealous.

Math – 770 (why was the curve good when the section was so easy?)
CR – 680 (was not expecting this)
Writing – 710 (78 multiple choice, 6 essay… it was incomplete :/…)

October >> January
Reading - 560 >> 630 (70)
Math - 660 >> 770 (110)
Writing - 660 >> 680 (20)

I’m so satisfied cos I’m a minority from Africa…yipee
MATH…i love u

650/680/670 (essay:10)

2000 total…I thought CR was my highest score, expecting in the 750s but I guess not
I thought math would be my lowest after looking at the consolidated list but it was my highest…WHAT’S GOING ONNNNNN?
at least this was only my first time lol

I got ****.

Reading 630
Math 670
Writing 620
Composite: 1300
Total: 1920

Now I’m really starting to see the signs of early mental retardation. Ugh. I can’t retake it 'cause I HAVE to transfer this year.

AHH!! I got a 2400! =)))

CR: 800
Math: 800
Writing: 800 75 MC/ 12 Essay LOL

2390

CR: 800
Math: 800
Writing: 790 75/11

Not too happy about the writing…from the looks of it I only needed a 12 essay or 3 more MC points for a 2400…

haha–i did not know i could pull off a 12 essay! I made up so many facts about abolitionists and slavery XD

1st time taking test as a junior
no expensive test prep or test prep course at all
M: 570
WR: 640
CR:800
total:2010
I guess its okay but
I am so uneven
