January 2013 SAT I CR (Japanese Rice, and others)

@diddly: It should be “for.” If it is “of,” its stating that the food supply was the fish.

@mpgh, it was open to interpretation because including that one part of the sentence that the question referenced to added the fact that people observe their surroundings in different ways

Was the architecture experimental? What about the amoeba one?

I don’t understand why it’s open to interpretation. It seemed like it was expressing a sense of unfamiliarity in the passage. And yet, I had only about 5 minutes so I might of misunderstood.

It’s possible :confused: it’s only one question though, no big deal! Also, in math, i was rushed on a question and had only like 2 minutes to do it in. About the cars/trucks graph, what was the answer? i put 75

@diddly: REMEBER THAT WRITING SECTION IS NOT ABOUT STYLE. IT IS ABOUT ERRORS! You’re stating your own personal style choice. Remember this and your writing score will IMPROVE!
75 is correct.

Got 75 too. It was 175-100

Thank the lord in heaven

Did anyone without the critical reading experimental have the rotifier passage? With like amoebas

This is for CRITICAL READING, NOT MATH. Please direct all MATH questions elsewhere.

was that writing question about fish experimental, i don’t remember it

for the Japanese one, can anyone confirm the role of the questions? Whether they were presenting a new problem or underscoring a predicament?

i said underscoring a predicament because I thought those problems were already made clear before that so they weren’t being introduced as new

For the Cold War passage was it European ideologies or Soviet leaders or something else

i think it was underscoring a predicament. they werent new problems, the narrator was just emphasizing that he really didnt know how to handle the situation. only at the end after continual hypothesizing and thinking does he come up with the sushi thing, (optimistic, for those of you who were wondering)

omg D:<

so 4 wrong in cr. Would that be a 760-ish for this one? Not sure because everyone seemed to do really well on it.

@coll3gehopeful, need more context

There are those that did extremely well and there are those that did extremely bad. 1/3 of the students in my class left half of the math,CR, and writing answers blank.

What did you guys put for the father quoting that some guy ate only rice and lived for 8 years?
Does anyone remember the question with the answer choice Both US and Soviet are responsible for war?

@glasses1

didn’t the author see a creative way to “fusion” them together so they wouldn’t necessarily clash? But the fact that it wasn’t “new” seems to undermine my answer choice…

I can’t remember whether it was “new” or not.

I’m so sad right now. I’m not usually this bad in CR :(((

I don’t think it had “new” but I’m more than likely the answer was something like the questions presents the problem.
