UArts last audition date was March 20. Anyone who is still waiting to hear should receive word soon. That should include those who auditioned on the 20th, those who auditioned earlier and have not heard anything and those who were deferred. Hang in there! As to hearing about the waitlist (which is different than deferred), that may take longer since UArts subscribes to the May 1 National Response Date.

Just had a fantastic audition at Montclair State University in New Jersey. They said that they should have a decision by this Wednesday.

Website said letter is on its way. Fingers crossed.

Halleluja and praise the Lord. DS got his acceptance letter today for UArts.

Congratulations, that’s wonderful news!

thanks again. What is the best dorm to choose as a preference? I think I read somewhere that Juniper is the best, would you or your daughter agree? I also was wondering what the cost of books are for MT, I did not see it listed anywhere.

Juniper is generally for upper classmen only although I have heard of freshmen getting an apartment there due to medical conditions that require air conditioning to control dust and certain severe allergies. The Spruce dorm, located at 12th and Spruce, is liked by many freshmen due to its location. It consists mostly of 2 person studio apartments. The Furness dorm, located at Broad and Pine, is a favorite for those who are interested in suites with more room mates but with a common area connecting the bedrooms in the apartments. All the dorm apartments have kitchenettes and private bathrooms.

I would estimate between $300 - $400 per semester for books and supplies. Most of the books will be paperbacks (lots of plays, a variety of text books - but rarely, if ever, textbooks published by text book companies that charge a fortune). Most of my daughter’s books have been purchased from the area Borders and Barnes and Noble book stores, some on line from Amazon, some from the school’s book store.
