**************January Official SAT Thread**************

i got a 2270 last time which is really horrible since

there isn’t much difference between a 2310 and a 2400 but there is a huge one between 2270 and 2400.

it all comes to the difficulty of the the questions because they sometimes vary a little but affect my score.

you think theres a big difference between a 2270 and a 2400? Compare that to an 1840 and a 2400 :(

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

I’m taking it tomorrow, hoping for a 2300+.

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD NIGHT TO ALL.

Im in an international test taker (france) so I’m getting ready to go now. Im sooo nervous. Hopefully the essay question is good (I NEEED TO GET A 5…the 4 always brings me down from ~700 to ~640).

WISH ME THE BEST OF LUCK

I’ll telll you all how it goes tonite

Good luck to all who are taking it.

I’m taking it tomorrow-first time as a Junior. Not too worried about my score, as I’ll most likely take it two more times. Ultimately, I’d like to get 2000+ (by my third time).

ok done with it guys. how did everyone do?

It was pretty good…i think the experimental section was reading(in my opinion the one with many definitions). Essay was good and Math was pretty easy except for a few tricky questions.

Overall I think i got in the 2150-2300 range (probably just above 2200). I don’t want to elaborate on the exact questions (YET) because I don’t want the collegeboard to knock on my door. I don’t have the gumption (or money) to handle a lawsuit right now :P.

Lets talk when the last time zone finishes. BTW how do you think you did no_novice?

when can we start discussing questions?

I just took it today…I was wondering if anyone can answer my question about the essay: Do you have to include examples from PERSONAL experience? Since I wrote down the people as a whole. I don’t want to get into details since it might be too early to discuss this. Thanks in advance!

OMG… writing was IMPOSSIBLE!
section 2 or 3 whatever… it was so hard

i had three writing sectoins, not including the essay…

does that mean one of the writing sections was experimental???

Without discussing specific questions. What does everyone think of the Math section? As someone said earlier, I thought it was pretty easy except some tricky questions. Said questions that I am sure I would be able to figure out if given more time. I had 3 math sections with a total of 54 questions.

I omitted 4 questions but I am pretty sure that ALL the other questions I got them right. That gives me a raw score of 50 which is good for like a 720 but taking into consideration that one always does little mistakes, I have room to get 2 answers wrong and get a raw score of 48 which means a 700 and I will be happy with that.

How does everyone think the curve will be for the math section, easy, intermediate or hard?

its a toss up which is experimental i thik.

i think a critical reading was the experimental… it was weird how one came right after the other

I got the one with the experimental 20 question math. I’m not sure which one was experimental, but the first seemed substantially easier than the second.

when can we start discussing??

hmmm i really hope one of the verbal sections was the experimrental… i only left 4 blank in the test, and they were all in verbal

i had 4 maths, which was the experimental section

I’m guessing that we’ll start discussing at 3:00 EST… unless people want to wait for people in Hawaii and Alaska to finish~ lol

I’m not sure how I did (especially since I did zero prep for this-- first time I’ve taken it), but I’m thinking (or at least hoping) 2100+

I think its safe to start at 3:00 EST, because by then, people from Alaska and Hawaii will already be in the test.
