So I’m a 10th grader taking the real SAT for the first time. I’ve taken 10 practice SATs from Princeton Review, College Board, and Kaplan. I kept scoring around 1700s. I had a few questions…

Is the real sat easier than the practice?

How many students are in one SAT test room?

Is it possible to go back to a section and not get caught?

What are the chances I’ll get a lenient proctor during the test? (Taking at community college)

During breaks, do the proctors spy on you or something?

For me, I think the real SAT is easier than the Princeton Review’s Practice Test, but I’m not sure about the CollegeBoard’s tests and others

When I came in for the December 3, 2011 SAT Test room, there were around 20-25 students in the room. Different rooms contain different amount of test-takers, so it always vary.

It’s possible to get back to a section and not get caught, but don’t do it because you might get caught and you have to forfeit your test.

There are hardly any proctors that will be lenient because I’m pretty sure they follow the rules.

No, they don’t.

Highest I’ve gotten was a 1800 in the Princeton Review but I can’t seem to pass the 1800 mark on the College Board practice SATs. I’ve been doing 1 test per day for 10 days. I’ll be doing it until the test day to get myself really familiarized. I’m starting to get the hang of it though.

I am always 5 minutes behind in the CR section but I finish the math section fairly quickly to make up for the time lost. I need to be seated somewhere at the back so I can have that extra 5 minutes to complete the CR section.

Try to increase your speed, you might not be able to go back 2 the cr section

Just out of curiosity, why are you taking the SAT as a sophomore? I don’t think there’s anything necessarily wrong with it (I took it my sophomore year), but I just don’t get why.

I’ll chip in some answers to give a second opinion:

1.You’ll find that the real thing is about the same level, but being nervous may make you feel like it’s harder.
2. Same, also about 20-25.
3. Yeah, don’t try this. It really isn’t worth it.
4. Most proctors tend to be “normal” if not strict. Some have even been known to give less than the allotted time (in which case you may want to say something), but these incidences are fairly rare.
5. Proctors usually keep to themselves.

I’m taking it next month as my sophomore year because I wanted to get the feel of a REAL SAT and if I get a decent score, I won’t need to take it during my junior year which will be about 5 ap classes and sports.

Besides taking the SAT test you need to also review vocabularies and grammar.

Why don’t you wait till junior year to take it, your score will probably go up through just your school classes alone.

Okay, not to be rude, but your score isn’t phenomenal, why are you taking it?
