Is it possible to pass this exam using Rosetta Stone’s Japanese (all 3 levels)? A friend and myself were hoping to take it come end-year, however they do not offer any courses at my school, so we turned to Rosetta Stone. Is it sufficient?

The only caveat I would have is this: Rosetta Stone is created more so that you learn to speak the language. The AP exams in language are big on subtle grammar from what I have heard. This is to cut down on the advantage native speakers have.

I also understand the exam in Japanese is the Language and Culture.

I know someone who used all of the French Rosetta Stone levels, and still ended up with a B in French III (Typically 2 courses below AP French).

These are all anecdotal, but I don’t think Rosetta Stone will be enough.
