yeah thats the one I was talking about I think…I’m pretty sure I got it completely wrong because I like spaced out the entire convo… how did you know it was at home?

because man said Gomen Kudasai when he entered the house. that’s what they say when coming in. and you probably know this since you were there for a whole year.

lol wow, missed that. let’s see… i think i got 3 wrong because i guessed the last question right for that one… so that’s a 780? I hope? haha

i agreee with debbie completely.

the “mae” would mean across from the bank, so that’s why i put “close to the station”

yeah, and i didnt put any correction for the 9 o’clock one.

and i put the guy was entering a home, and that the lady was expressing appreciation for the gift he was offering.

alright! this makes me feel better.

yeah I think they were just trying to trip people up with the “mae”
Why is the curve so much harsher for Japanese than the other languages? I was just looking at the scale in the blue book…

How did any of you who’ve taken the AP Japanese and/or JLPT exams think this exam compared with either of those?

Much easier than JLPT lvl 3 (which wasn’t that hard), but then JLPT is basically pass or fail, so as long as you get 60% right, you pass (except for lvl 1). I haven’t taken the AP test.

Well, I got the ペンもノートも question wrong. Stupid mistake x.x

I’m hoping I still get an 800 if the curve is at -1.

Lol Debbie you are so great!!! I think I lost my hope for a 800. But I’ll see what will happen. Anyone taking JLPT this Dec. I’ve registered for JLPT Lvl 2.

for those of you who have the blue book…

was there a curve at all? what was the score if you missed one? somehow i remember the blue book scale being 780 for one incorrect.

Raw score of 78-80 in the blue book is an 800.

If one mistake is a 780, then how do you get a 790? Because my friend got a 790 on the Japanese SAT II last November.

I’m registered for JLPT 2 too :D, I will fail horribly though, because of my lack of effort to study kanji :/.

I’ve also registered for JLPT 2. But I’m kinda afraid because I struggled during the SATII. Do you guys remember the book question? Was it 3 or 4 satsu? I put 4 but I’m not so sure. And for the Omoto and Yoshida question, were the answers “Office”, “Placing an Order”? (I don’t remember if there were two or three questions on it…)

Argh I totally forgot about the book question, that one was really annoying… did he put one back? I don’t remember… I think they were due in two weeks though?

It was 3 books. The guy selected 4 but the lady said he could only borrow 3 at a time, so he did that. And the books were due back in two weeks.

Ughh… should’ve went with 3. I’ve gotta cancel my score… the only problem is if I apply for early next year (I’m a junior), are you allowed send scores in after the deadline for apps (the beginning of Nov)?

i think it depends on the school. How many do you think you got wrong? I’m starting to get a little worried because there are four I know I definately got wrong :/

lol. mine is 2 so far. oh, i should have thought well before bubbling. i was kinda tired of it and just filled in some circles lol

it’s in a home.
the lady said “douzo, o-agari kudasai” – which is what you say to a visitor to let him know he is welcome to enter the house.
you know how homes in japan are elevated – when you enter a house, you pass through a genkan (where you remove the shoes), then you step “up” to enter the main hallway of the house. this is why they say “agari.” (to go up/climb)
