…speechless. I was thinking ‘agetekudasai’. I think I’ve got at least 4 wrong also. I should’ve prepared for it just in case; JLPT was coming up anyway.

i dont know. my memory’s probably wrong. but i think i did get the 780 on the blue book practice test, although i dont remember how many i got wrong.

hmm. so far i dont think ive missed one definitely.
yeah the guy borrowed 3 books because one of them was like a reference or something and could not be borrowed out.
way to go debbie! seems like you’re on your way to a perfect?

“o-agari kudasai”

Wait are you sure it wasn’t owagari kudasai, like you say when you’re offering someone food? I’ve never heard o-agari kudasai before

I said it was in a restaurant

Well, think about it. If someone is entering someone else’s home, would they immediately say “Please give me food!” It doesn’t make sense.

And if restaurant was an answer choice I don’t remember that well, then the people who wrote the test were probably trying to trip up people who couldn’t tell the difference between o-agari and o-wagari when listening.

And o-agari kudasai is an actual phrase. When the host/hostess of the home says “o-agari kudasai,” they are saying “please come in” translated to make sense in english. Someone a few posts up explained it.

knowing that the man said “Gomen kudasai” is just enough to know that it’s happening in someone’s home. lol
would they say gomen kudasai when coming into restaurant? i think you are completely fooled by CB.

Im pumped :). even if i missed a few i still did better in this test than i would have done in spanish (which im in my third year of) b/c they make those tests soo hard-i was guessing so frequently even on CB’s website for it. In conclusion, i am thankful to collegeboard for making such a SWEET test in japanese… after one year of self study and a semester in a college class im feeling set-

lol im in third year and missed on some really stupid questions.

I lived with two Japanese families, and they do use “douzo, o-agari kudasai” to invite people in :)

so?

ps: I want to ask GoD why???

so?? haha. i dont want to be the first person to post score
how did everyone do.

I’m a little disappointed because I thought I only got one wrong on the written portion, but I guess I’m losing my listening comprehension x.x Oh well. At least I have one good score to report to colleges. =D

How’d everyone else do?

Its not the highest score, but i can be happy with it.

lol 690. i heard people should take language tests unless they get a 800. is it true???

780 for my son.

I’m really sure that I wouldn’t get a 690 on JAPANESE!!! Is there any way to have my score checked? a 690 is like a raw score of 66 or somewhere around it. I mustn’t have lost that many questions!!! Please anyone??

800
i wonder if i should take the chinese as well. (im chinese)

w00t! Good job :)

does anyone know the curve?

I got a 720, bleh I’m kind of upset… thats a raw score of like 69, meaning I would to have gotten 8 wrong. I really don’t think I did… Oh well, I’ll just wait for the score report.

I plan on sending my 650 in this test as an extra score to a college (they dont ask for SAT2s)… do you think its a positive thing since its not the best score?
