Hey
I was watching TV and this program said that the Japanese Language has no swear words in it. Is that true? If so, then how do you insult a person who pi$$ed you off?

Anatawa baka, aho, doji, manuke, KOROS!!! ANATAWA KOROS!!!

Figure it out ;)

No, I’m not Japanese.

hmm that’s weird. I know when I read manga or watch anime there are swear words! I do know that they have those name additions that they say after people’s names (sorry I forgot what they are called) and they can be used to insult someone.

Japanese does indeed have swear words.

Actually, I just found a webpage that taught how to swear in Japanese. I don’t think I can post it here, though.

well, give examples (and translate pleease)

I can pm the webpage but I am NOT going to post it in public.

Wikipedia has a good explanation of how insults are used.

<a href=“Profanity - Wikipedia”>Profanity - Wikipedia;

okay then do that thanks!!

Here, I’ll just translate mine… :D

Anatawa baka, aho, doji, manuke, KOROS!!! ANATAWA KOROS!!!

Anatawa = You, action to -> you
Baka = Stupid :rolleyes:
Aho = Crazy
Doji = Fat, large, obese, meant in an offensive manner.
Manuke = You lazy piece of -ice cream-. :wink:
KOROS!!! = I’ll K–L YOU!!!

Hope I’m not banned now, lol.

Nothing too harsh ;)

is there a word for F*** in Japanese???

ok, pm sent. don’t go running around saying those japanese curses though. (the worst ones you have to scroll down)

The japanese language focuses a lot on politness levels. Using the wrong verb form (without -masu) could be insulting to some japanese people, but that does not qualify as a swear word.

the japanese love to use english words too, especially teens, since they have to study it from 7th grade and on in school. so if they want to say the F-word, they say it in english.

oo, we do that here to, although Arabic is also full of swear words.
And we have our own version of giving the finger.

baka… I remember that word when I was in Japan. My host brother dropped a glass on the floor and my host mother’s friend told me to yell, “Baka! Baka!” She said that meant crazy. Although, she didn’t speak English very well…

Wow. I was told that all the swear words in Japanese are not actual words in the Japanese language, but just slang words. I remember talking about this with my roommate (who’s full Japanese and fluent) at an away school function at night past curfew and we were confined to our room. Japanese is a funny language. T__T

anything sounds funny if you don’t understand it.
There is some pretty cool stuff in that link that was sent to me. Thanks again. I’ll use them with my friends who don’t speak Japanese.
