I was issued a ticket three weeks ago for jaywalking but I didn’t have my ID with me. Because I’m really bad at lying I gave the officer my real info with my local address. I’m an out-of-state student and don’t expect to be back in Cali for a long time. Graduation is coming in just a few months…can I just ignore the ticket? I just think it’s ridiculous to pay over $100 for jaywalking…I’ve learned my lesson, fine, I won’t do it again (at least in Cali…I’m from NY!!)

You can just ignore the ticket, to answer your question. Want to know what happens then?

Fight it in court. 80% of the time your citing officer won’t show up and you will be forgiven of the ticket, but if he does show, you’re screwed because a cops word is 100% > than yours.

oh man… being from NYC too, jaywalking is gonna be one hard habit to break
