Does anyone here know someone who is studying jazz at UCLA? We just toured the music school, but we weren’t able to ask any current students questions.
Hopefully someone here will reply over the next week with a contact.
Alternatively, schools often have some sort of student “ambassador”. These students are often very outgoing and positive about the school. Still, at that age, they tend to be quite honest too…which is helpful. My D ended up texting with several students during decision time. And some of these students were offered up to her after acceptance. I see no reason why you couldn’t get connected earlier.
You can call music administration and ask to be put in touch with a music student for questions. I can’t guarantee that all schools do this. Also I’m not sure how it would work in summer. You may have to be more patient. Again, parents differ on who should contact the school. I think in these general matters to administration, a parent calling is OK. Or your kid can call or email administration. Once you have a student’s name (or teacher’s name) in the future your kid should do all contact.
I hope that this helps.
Thank you! That is a great idea
