As I’ve already admitted, I haven’t personally served any time in jail, but think fellow prisoners are unlikely to be as harsh in judging Epstein as we might be. Let’s be real here. Prisoners are known to be hard on child molesters and although you and I both understand the girls in this case were minors, I suspect guys like Epstein and other statutory rapists would not be at risk for arousing fellow prisoner ire like a guy victimizing an 8 year old would be… more likely the fellow prisoners are giving him high fives and mad respect for bagging 15 year old model types.
If we’re playing the odds, Epstein harming himself or getting into a squabble over some sort of prison etiquette are far more likely than fellow prisoners attacking him in payback for having sex with dozens of teenage bikini model types.
Great piece of investigative journalism shining a light on the relationship between Epstein and Leslie Wexner, the billionaire philanthropist/chair of L Brands. The article outlines the riches Epstein got from Wexner but begs the question, what did Epstein have to offer Les Wexner? Was Epstein blackmailing Wexner?
There is a well-connected entertainment lawyer known only as Enty that wrote “blinds” about Spacey, Weinstein and others long before the MeToo movement on the CDAN website.
He believes the Epstein revelations will be much more devastating then #MeToo.
If you’re interested in what he has said about Epstein, just google:
Epstein isn’t in prison yet. He’s being held at a federal jail, the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan. "The facility has one female wing; seven General Population male wings, six of which feature cells and one is a dorm; one Special Housing Unit (SHU); and one “supermax” unit. Each unit takes up two stories. All General Population units feature a gym (no weights), a kitchen (microwaves, hot water, ice), and five TV sets (1 in the gym and 4 on the floor). Offices, classes, and computers are located on the unit’s second floor. "
I’m not sure he’s going to ‘do better’ by getting moved to a medical wing or other facility. I don’t think this jail is a country club, but it isn’t Rikers either.
Most held at this jail are waiting for federal trials, so drugs, guns, money laundering, mob activity. El Chapo was there until he was moved to Colorado Supermax. Hey, maybe Jeff got his cell?
The former financier has been housed in a cell with Nicholas Tartaglione, a former police officer facing murder charges, one of the law enforcement officials said. Both men are in a special unit with strict security measures that is used to separate some inmates from the general population.
I read that the feds have served the former Lolita Express pilots with warrants. Their testimony will corroborate the flight logs. I just hope that this time political favors won’t sweep the whole thing under the rug. BTW, I’m really glad now that I’ve never shopped at Victoria’s Secret. It is beginning to look like a front for a pedophilia ring.
I may be wrong – it’s been known to happen! – but I just don’t believe that Wexner would have gone along with bad stuff that Epstein offered. Wexner was a great CEO for retail operations for decades, and Victoria’s Secret was a great store that did really well for many years. But I think it’s premature to conclude that shopping at Victoria’s Secret supports pedophiles.
On the other hand, why the hell did Wexner give Epstein the goodies he did – like, a $77 million house in Manhattan? It makes sense if Epstein was blackmailing Wexner because Wexner participated in sex with underage girls, but again – Wexner?!
Don’t be surprised. Think Bill Cosby, Matt Lauer and any other number of formerly respectable and successful people that have turned out to be dirt bags.
Considering what this businessman received from the wealthy pedophile, it is pretty disingenuous to say he didn’t know what the pedophile was up to. Plus, he was personally involved with at least one attempt at keeping someone quiet about a sexual assault, including people he employed also doing his bidding to keep the sexual assault quiet.
I guess my biases are showing. Wexner is someone I might have met in my circle of acquaintances (I haven’t, but I might have), and I worked for someone who worked directly for Wexner at The Limited. So I’m making assumptions that he’s Just Like Me, or Just Like Other People I Know.
What did Wexner receive from Epstein that we know for certain?
Even Wexner’s friends and business associates were surprised at how much power Wexner gave Epstein, including personal power of attorney and the ability to control a lot of money. When Epstein had served his sentence, Wexner welcomed him back to parties and events without question or restriction (as did many other powerful business people and society elites).
