I knew women who were coerced into relationships with their bosses back in the 70’s. They were vilified as being gold diggers when they sued, because people considered them grown adults in consensual relationships. But the relationships were based on an abuse of power by men who had the ability to take away their jobs if they didn’t do what the men demanded. Because of this, I don’t make assumptions about women who have been linked with powerful men. There are many possibilities in the scenario as described by the bit of information posted here. Some may be consensual, some may not … and some may even involve a Ghislaine Maxwell type scenario. It certainly appears important to have all relevant information, including most likely more information that the DOJ may have or possibly should be looking into.
Holy cow! There is too much going on for me to say anything other than, “The rich can do whatever they want.”
And they do.
This new reporting seems to add a few wrinkles to the narrative.
You send someone a big chunk of dough. It’s either payment (for services rendered, goods, etc.) or it’s a gift, or it’s a charitable donation (if the “someone” is a legitimate 501-C3, and the “donor” received no personal benefit from the payment).
Those are the options. There’s no gray area. So using a yoga instructor as a way to launder money (he says it was a gift–but didn’t file the paperwork), she says it was payment (but didn’t declare it on her taxes), the only way to increase the amount of the “gift” that wouldn’t need to be filed with the IRS would be to tell the wife so you could use HER gift limit…. Ugh.
So Black was being blackmailed? Oh Gosh. Couldn’t have seen that coming.
I think the age of many of these women becomes irrelevant based on the latest reporting. Threatening to have someone deported, or reporting them to the intelligence services of a foreign nation, or whatever else was behind this shady stuff is likely evidence (or an early warning signal) of other crimes. So sure- these were women in their 20’s, the pedophilia stuff not relevant. But trafficking women from overseas (whether they are 25, 35 or 45) is still a crime. The tax coverups– likely illegal. There is nothing to stop someone from taking legal advice from someone who is not a lawyer (which Epstein was not), but ignorance of the law won’t exonerate you if your non-lawyer gave you bad advice, which you took, and which turned out to be illegal.
Tish James is likely all over this (I would guess). If NY State has jurisdiction over any of this (the IRS stuff is clearly federal….) then Black can’t be pardoned by a particular president who doesn’t want to see a fellow billionaire with poor impulse control go to the jail.
Just disgusting everywhere you turn….
Yes, 100%
From the article:
“ and Mr. Black had been in a sexual relationship, and since at least 2009, hundreds of thousands of dollars had flowed to her from Mr. Black’s bank accounts.”
Unless admitted to, they should use the word “allegedly”.
I do think the Russian woman knew exactly what she was doing - given the $$ just my opinion.
Thanks @zeebamom for finding the entire article.
It certainly does appear Mr. Black is a slime, including paying $62 mil to the Virgin Islands authorities. If he’s slime, I hope they get him.
I finished the article - discusting from one end to the other. Seems Epstein was a “fixer” in more ways than one.

Epstein did whatever he could to keep his rich, powerful man-friends close to him. And in turn, they gave him oodles of money.
A persuasive, albeit depressing, analysis (gift link):
Fabulous article. It makes so much sense, if the word “sense” can be used as a description for this sort of thing.
Biting my tongue since this isn’t the Politics Forum:

“And so I think that to the extent that the Epstein files was a part of the past year of this Justice Department, it should not be a part of anything going forward.”
The Justice Department has not released all the Epstein files. The DOJ initially said there were roughly 6 million pages of records in the files, but it has released about 3 million. The department said it has withheld duplicates, as well as other records.
Well, that’s a good explanation. ![]()
I can only assume there’s a certain name in those “other records” maybe, oh, 38,000 times or so?
And thus why he’s being appointed -
I hope every single victim comes forward and tells their story in as much detail as they can muster.
Nothing to hide ? So is this why she’s ousted - to avoid a slip up ?
She would just yell about the Dow anyway.
@super_moderators - confused. I noticed this is the parents cafe. But isn’t all of Epstein sort of political. Shouldn’t it be in the political group. Everything about Epstein is tied to politics. I didn’t even notice it wasn’t until my last post was hidden. Much of what’s in the thread is political in nature.
Thanks
I do think it’s possible to discuss it without being political. Yes, it’s tied to politics from the standpoint that it is being dealt with by folks in DC. However, it is an issue that transcends party. Power and influence know no particular political party.
