Jeffrey Epstein

Yes.

It came from yesterday’s data dump, but whether it is real-real is TBD. The FBI had asked for a handwriting analysis, but the results aren’t there.

And I’m wondering ….since it was sent from prison — would there have been a review of the contents by prison authorities before it was mailed?

I think it was Mr Epstein’s desire to inflict pain on the person whose DOJ put him in jail.

I wouldn’t put much credence into the letter. Which 100% would have been screened by the correction facility. On both ends

And once screened, it would have been allowed to pass through.

At least it’s a useful reminder that pedophilia and sexual crimes against children take place in all kinds of ā€œlegitimateā€ circles, everywhere from organized sport to organized religion to high-level politics and finance

And inspected by the receiving prison, maybe held for months or bouncing around the prison mail for months.

I was thinking in terms of censorship, etc

yes, on both ends

i heard Nina Totenburg speak once about John Hinckly Jr and one of his hearings for release. A psychologist was testifying that John and Ted were corresponding and discussing this and that. Ted? Why yes, Ted Bundy. The psychologist said it was not unusual for famous people in prisons to correspond. i guess the judge, who had been leaning back in his chair, jolted forward and shouted ā€˜Bench!’ and a few minutes later denied the motion for parole or release or whatever. Even though it may be common for famous prisoners to write to each other, the judge found that concerning.

But that doesn’t mean the mail is freely delivered without inspection. I’m sure if he wrote and mailed the letter just before his death, the line about ā€˜taking the short route’ would have been flagged. I don’t think mail found in his cell, ready to be mailed, would have been mail after his death (to get the cancellations on the envelope/postcard.

Was the letter released by the Justice Dept? Or was that fake too? Apologies for posting false information, I do try not to do that!

I can’t read the Twitter post because I deleted the X/Twitter app, so wasn’t able to read the details.

ETA reputable new outlets are reporting that Epstein did write a letter to Nasser, although the contents of that letter are not known.

Regardless of the veracity, I’m quite sure the orange guy contacted Pam to put out that statement

So, the Justice Dept. Has announced that the FBI has determined that this document is a fake?

As Church Lady would say, ā€œHow CONVENIENT.ā€

I’m not buying it.

That’s the problem. We don’t know what it real and what is fake. And there’s no trust in the people releasing these documents

I’ve heard that the redacted items are easily seen because of the way they were redacted, I guess people are claiming you can copy and paste the redacted documents into adobe and see what was redacted.

What a mess

A fake planted to perhaps serve as a foil … just because it’s in the files doesn’t mean it’s true. Casting doubt on purpose.

I could read the first portion of an Atlantic article which says there are some fake pictures of Epstein with a child or teen photoshopped in (because there are real pictures of him with known people). i’m not sure where they came from, but 3000 pictures and notes and documents were released so i’m sure some are fake.

Was there any reporting regarding how fake items got into the released information?

i don’t have a subscription so only got to read the first few paragraphs. I think the FBI collected everything from his homes, the jails, things sent to him, etc. Celebrity prisoners get a lot of mail.

Maybe it was stuff printed off his computer?

ugh. There is a way to redact with adobe that is permanent but you have to know how to do it. They should have.

The DOJ sometimes receives fake items. According to the law that was passed, they must release everything they have – and that includes some fake items. We’re getting a dump, not a curation.
