There was some good news today:

The baby is named Margaret Laura for her two grandmothers, and her nickname is Mila.

Congrats to Jenna and her family :)

Thank you for posting this. Babies are so wonderful!

Yes, there is nothing like a baby to offset the awful things in the world.

Laura Bush looks so happy.

I like honoring the grandmothers with the name, just as Laura Bush did.

Ooooh, I want a grandbaby!
I haven’t heard the name out loud. Is it My-la or Me-la ? I love the family name combination but I’m glad my parents didn’t name me after my Grandmas. God bless them but they had ugly names.

I want grand babies too, someday. Many!

It’s Me-la. If you look at the Today show, they have video where it is pronounced.

That’s right, TatinG. Laura Bush named her twins after the two grandmothers.

I was named after one of my grandmothers.

Such happy news for that family! I remember when my first grandchild was born and it is a tremendously joyful time. :)

Don’t forget the proud great-grandparents! Although they may have other great grandchildren, I don’t know.

I’m glad I was named for my grandmothers. My name would have been something like Claga!

That’s was NOT.

^ Fragra here…

Congrats to the whole family. How exciting, a new baby!

Speaking of the great-grandparents, did anyone see the piece on TV about George HW Bush’s letters? Jenna did it, so it must have been on the Today Show. I always knew that he wrote letters all the time. In this piece, people who received his letters read from them. There were letters to his wife during WWII, letters to his grandchildren, letters to others like Bill Clinton. It was very moving.

Such happy news! The Bush family looks very happy!

Oh my, I forget how tiny those newborns are. Thanks for the great photos.

It’s very sweet that the baby is named for her grandmothers. I am named for both my grandmothers and it is very special to me now that they are both gone. I still have their names. I also have a nickname that is different than the one my grandma used. Our shared first name is unusual and I often get complimented on it.

Congratulations to the Bush/Hagar families! They all look wonderful. :)

I love babies. I’m expecting one, myself!

Congratulations, VillageMom! When are you due? My younger son is 14 and those days of having a newborn around seem so far in the past.

VillageMom, congratulations!!! What a wonderful blessing.

NYMomof2 are you implying that a 14-year old boy is not a baby? Blasphemer!!
