Jenna Bush Hagar has baby girl

poetsheart, my D who is a teacher has a little girl in her class this year who is named after her grandmother whose name was Mildred. The girl’s name is Millie, which I think is cute! :)

Veryhappy, those are not uncommon names today. I have two friends who have granddaughters named Grace and another has one named Violet.

Oh, I love, love, love those names!! We used Grace as a middle name. So did half the country, it seems.

If this baby had been a girl, my top two picks were Violet and Frances. But my children tried to rule out Violet because it does not contain the letter “A”. All of my other children’s names have an “A” in them, which was just a coincidence!

Villagemom, you could do what the Duggers did and name them all starting with the same letter.

^^^ it’s probably too late for that!

I know quite a few children named Grace. It’s one of my favorite names.

VillageMom, a newborn + a toddler = exhaustion ^^2 (squared)! Of course, you have help now, but you are also a couple of decades older!

(I had my younger son at almost 49, a surprise pregnancy; I’m sure you’re not nearly as old as I was!)

The 5th grader down the street from me is named Ezekiel. A cuter kid than he does not exist. He told me his siblings (twin sister + three others) call him E.Z. on occasion.

My mother-in-law was named Agnes and her sister named Frances. Agnes named one of her sons Francis - middle name.

I had a friend back in the day - Catholic school days - named Mary (of course). Her sisters:

Anne
Virginia
Grace
Regina

I always that so cool.

One of my daughters is Mary. :)

I was about to get all faux offended (even though it’s very, very true!) until I read this:

quote

Wow!! You would give my friends who are 45+ a great deal of hope. I’ll be 43 and I’ve already been called a “geriatric pregnancy”.

I said, “Should we schedule a c-section and a hip replacement at the same time? Does Geritol come in a prenatal formula? Am I going to confuse baby formula and my Ensure? Is Botox safe during pregnancy? And why don’t Michigan Mom shirts come in maternity??”

We were 40+ when ThirdToGo was born … and never got used to going to a sporting event and looking at the parents … and realizing we could have been the parent of some of the parents of kids playing with our kid. Yikes!

My line when S2 was two years old and I was 42: “It was one thing to be pregnant at age 40. It’s something else to be chasing after a toddler with a poopy diaper when you’re 42.” :(
