Jewish MT Schools

I was wondering what MT schools have fairly active Hillel chapters and active Jewish communities. I have heard that there is a large Jewish community at Elon, and I assume that at CCM, UMICH, and NYU there are Jewish communities simply based on the towns and the school sizes, but where else? Thanks

Muhlenberg (BA, non-audition) in PA. Syracuse probably too.

Elon is a wonderful school, but to be fair there is not a large Jewish community at Elon. Like most underrepresented communities at Elon, the Jewish community is very welcomed and probably still actively recruited for diversity (I know hard to believe). I do think they have a fairly active Hille.

I would add UCLA and USC to that list!

Syracuse does have a very active Hillel. Also Temple University.

Go to the Hillel website www.hillel.org. You can seach on specific schools and it provides a full profile including the Jewish population, Jewish studies, activities, kosher options… Also, be aware that you can go to a campus Hillel of a school near to you, you do not need to be a student at that particular school.

I should also say, some schools have “Jewish” clubs and organizations that are not Hillel (not many). If you don’t see a particular school on the Hillel site, call them and ask. There are schools with no Hillel with few Jewish kids and there are ones with quite a few.

Not sure about the MT programs but these schools themselves have very active Hillels, and so does the city of Pittsburgh: Penn State, Indiana, CMU.

Check out Ithaca!

Hofstra offer a Musical Theatre concentration as a part of their BFA in Theatre Arts degree.

University of Miami

U of Arizona
