Is Peabody totally separate, admissions-wise?

Yes, Peabody has a completely separate admissions process. [Peabody Institute - Conservatory Admissions: Conservatory Admissions](http://www.peabody.jhu.edu/admissions)

Is submission of 2 SAT IIs versus 3 SAT II a “negative” ?

and a follwo-up .. I retook SATs in Jan, and sent scores into JH Feb 16. Will these have been updated into my admissions package, or was Feb 16 too late?

Is it possible to still send in the 3rd sat

With decisions being released at the end of next week, it is too late to submit any additional application materials.

Oh well. Not expecting to get in either so no biggie

Does the application choice of major or “areas of interest” affect how the application is read? I.e. if a student indicates bio/med, are science and biology factors on the application looked at more closely? If the student indicates econ/history, are those factors and the essay writing judged more strongly?

My guidance counselor called them about that. It does affect it. If u put down bio ur screwed

In fact all competitive universities are the same, put down bio and ur screwed. Only kids who wanna do premed do bio so ur Application is pitted against the best

whew – at least that’s a positive development

pls don’t hate me, but I’m an English/Asian Languages guy

Think I made a mistake though in not doing the 3rd SATII

I subscribe to JH’s literary journal “Journal of English Literary History” … their English dept. is AWESOME!!!

Hoping I didn’t fall through the cracks, competing against all the super smart bio, engineering and science students.

Hi AdmissionsDaniel, Can you give a quick status of how everything is going? Will you be working over the weekend? Is everything on track for sometime next week? Thanks

Hello AdmissionsDaniel,

I know it’s late but I was wondering. If a students has a high GPA (3.7 UW 4.0 W), has excelled in college courses, but his/her SAT score is below 2000, does that warrant a denial? What if that students is severely economically disadvantaged, and has multiple responsibilities? Do you review each applicant in context? How would you review such an application?

Thank you in advance!

If I remember correctly, JHU reviews their applicants holistically, so I don’t think your SAT score would doom you to instant denial. Of course, your SAT score matters - but the other components of your applications matter as well. I think Hopkins would be sure to take into account your personal circumstances when reviewing your app.

But I’m not AdmissionsDaniel of course, so I’ll leave the official answer to him. (:

Admissions Daniel - Can you give any insight to what housing is really like? My S really wants the dorm experience but during our tour it seemed that would only happen in the first year or two. Thanks

For Housing, you can check out here for more info from Hopkins students:

While I am waiting, I am thinking of crabcakes. Admissions Daniel, am I out of my freakin’ mind?
