Hey everyone, I’m pretty interested in these three colleges, but I’m not sure if I want to apply to all three and was wondering if someone can help me narrow down my choices and maybe eliminate one or maybe two of them. I want people to consider acceptance rate, campus(I love pretty campuses), finance, and social life. I did research myself, but I just wanted a second opinion on everything.

The three colleges are all pretty much reaches for me. I have over 4.0 GPA and over 2100 SAT score and I’m sure teacher and counselor recs will be good. I also have decent EC’s, not ones that make me look like I deserve an award, but I have a good amount of hours of community service, and leadership, commitment, and variety. So I’m not the BEST candidate for these three, but I’m at least a consideration.

I’m undecided in what major I want to go in, but my interests are Philosophy, English, Communication Rhetoric, and Cognitive Science. Pretty wide-spread, but yeah.

I live in Northern VA near DC, so Georgetown would be a good choice. But my family is low income so regardless, I would still be paying a lot. JHU is also a good choice, i would like to go here the most cause I feel like I would feel most comfortable there. Duke is my biggest reach and I’m only considering it because it’s like a why not college. I probably won’t be accepted, so I don’t know if I should still apply. Don’t want to waste too much time on a lost cause.

I would like people to tell me which college seems to fit me best. I want to be in a college filled with smart people, BUT i don’t want too feel overwhelmed. I want to be a bum in my college years (no hard partying, just relaxing) so I don’t want to be in a stressed environment. I’m also Asian American, and sometimes I do prefer having a close group of Asian friends.

What do you guys think? Which college should I knock from my list? I already have a general idea myself, but second opinions are also helpful :)
