Sounds like the school rolled out the red carpet for him and he had a great time. 
Of all the people in Austin or connected with UT, why is he dragging Chip and Joanna down from Waco? I am so tired of them! Talk about overexposed. McConaghey’s overexposed too, but at least he’s from Austin and a UT grad.
I also wondered about the Gainses. I don’t know whether a college crowd really cares about them. But I’m excited nonetheless!
That must be for the boomer appeal. No way anyone under 50 buys into their shtick.

Not true. I happen to visit a relative in Waco fairly often and get caught up in the traffic for Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Silos/store/bakery. LOTS of young people walking to the Silos, and their restaurant is full of college kids and tourists of all ages.

Jimmy brought up three UT sophomores on stage. First he told them that Samsung was giving them a nice bunch of gifts. Then, as he took a selfie of the kids and him (with a Samsung phone, of course), he told them that the company is paying the remainder of their college tuition! Nice touch. 
Matthew McConaughey was amazing as always (he’s my celebrity crush).
