<p>Does anyone here have experiences with JKCP’s internship programs? Apparently kids get placed into some finance companies. Does anyone know if they just give you office work like filing, opening Fed-Ex packages, labeling them, etc. Or are there actual finance work?</p>
<p>I’m actually in a JKCP internship program right now! I’m an independent intern though, which means that I’m only in this program for room/board and food. But from what I hear from others in my program, they start off with basic office work. I don’t know how long that runs since I’m not interning through them, but I assume it’s only the first couple days into your job. I’m sure that eventually (not sure when) they begin to transition into doing more complicated work tasks. I can let you know what goes on later if you want. </p>
<p>Be aware that you have to preference where you want to work, and you may not get your first choice. I know about this one kid in the camp who wanted to work at Einstein hospital, but ended up working at a cat vetinary hospital. He tells me that he cleans up cat poo on a daily basis, ew. Some other people have already emailed the coordinator to ask for a change in job…including him.</p>
