Job Placement with CAS Diploma

I was wondering if a CAS degreee (for example in econ/pre-biz) can place me to a respectable job in I-bank or big name companies. I know that there is a fierce competition with the Stern students, but is it stil possible for CAS grads to attain such jobs? How about getting internships? I was worried because the avg. salary for CAS was relatively lower than Stern or SCPS.

Any info and details regarding this will be much appreciated.

I hear the competition is pretty rough even in Stern alone, so I’d imagine being in CAS would make it a bit more difficult, although I’m sure it’s possible. Sorry I can’t offer anything more… Where did you get the average salary numbers, though?

ah this is the comprehensive summary:

<a href=“Career Development and Jobs”>Career Development and Jobs;

those are low salaries…

…i dun noe wut kind of background u r from (i dont even caer to know), but i think it is a pretty respectable salary, esp. when compared with the national avg…

i’d like to know too.

national average is low though… in NYC, 38K is not enough. you need more money to survive in a huge metropolis.

Not everyone will stay in NYC, though. Take it from someone who has been working for over 20 years: those starting salary figures are impressive.

any other current students with some answers regarding my original question?

lol sorry about that
but I remember reading old topics and students saying that CAS students are highly recruited too, in addition to stern students :)

Some people work 20 years, with bachelors, and still don’t make that kind of money. Those salaries are pretty impressive for a recent grad…
