Job Search question

Hi
I have been looking online for a job. Still trying to figure out how I am going to handle my empty nest. I have a question. If you see a job you might be interested in -but you have lots of questions about it- do you apply and then ask the questions? Or ask questions with the provided email and then apply? Thanks

I would apply and give it my best shot.

If you don’t like the answers, you can always decline the offer.

Apply first, and ask your questions during the interview (unless they’re easily answered by googling). You should always have questions prepared anyway.

Thanks. At what stage do you find out the salary? (forgive me -I haven’t had a full time job for years -and my part time jobs I just fell into )

They will usually tell you or ask for your salary requirement when they are interested. I find most HR/recruiter will tell you right away without asking. If they don’t say anything, I would usually find out before I commit to a day long interview.

Thanks all

Keep in mind that if you look at Glassdoor, the reviews posted there may not reflect the reality, especially of there is only a handful of posts.

Not to be snide and not knowing your field, there are likely to many more applications you submit than responses from interested parties. Customize your resume and cover letter (if this is requested) for each employer to the extent possible. Good luck!

I was recently told bout a position in my field (which is a special education related services shortage agree). The job posting did not give the duration of the leave position, or the grade levels. I didn’t want to,waste anyone’s time, including my own…until I knew these answers (which frankly could have been in the listing).

I emailed the supervisor, and she responded within 2 hours.

Salary…that gets discussed either if they ask, or if you are a finalist for the job…in my opinion.
