After receiving an undergraduate degree in business, preferrably accounting, would a job with highly respected branches of the government, FBI and CIA look better than a job with a big firm when applying for an MBA program?

“I wouldn’t say the FBI and CIA are very highly respected at this point in time”

Thats incorrect. I would say jobs with gov’t agencies like the FBI/CIA, and military experience are HIGHLY respected in elite b-school admissions. Example: A cousin of mine spent a 2 years in the navy after undergrad, he got into MIT"s b-school, and his stats for that school were also a bit below average. Clearly, being able to operate a nuclear sub. has a little bit more of a WOW factor than being an excel ape at some investment bank.
