I am just going to ask this bluntly: I understand how hard it is to get into Newhouse, and I know how stellar students are there. But, are there any jobs after getting a major in these fields? In other words, is this an amazingly good school, but in a dying set of professions?

From the perspective of a mom of a rising junior at Newhouse, it seems that most get jobs although this field often doesn’t make offers until end of senior year or later during summer after graduation. In contrast to this being a dying field, I think the new technology and exploding communication methodologies makes this an area where companies really need young new talent. However, the entry salaries are very low and you are often competing with students with many other majors, not just communication. But there is no question, Newhouse certainly opens lots of doors in this field.
