<p>My college roommate majored in nursing. She went on to be an OR nurse in Houston, working under world-renowned heart surgeons (you know their names). She found them to be such jerks that she decided to go back to medical school and become a doctor herself, so she wouldn’t have to put up with their nonsense.</p>
<p>^^^^^Medical professionals seem to agree that there are a higher proportion of jerks in the OR than anywhere else. Of course there are always exceptions; I know some real sweethearts who are surgeons. But the ones who are awful are…well, I have the luxury of picking and choosing who I will work with, and there are some who will get a “NO” from me every time they call.</p>
