What types of jobs for I industrial engineers involve lots of moving around? I dont like sitting at a desk all day

There are periods of moving around (golf cart, bunny suit, clipboard, the works) and periods of desk work. If you want all clipboard / bunny suit /golf cart all the time, it’s more of an operations management type position.

Who doesn’t?

Turbo, you just gave me a mental image of a guy in a bunny suit driving a golf cart while holding a clipboard. It made me happy.

My wife did the bunny suit / clipboard (wireless tablet these days) routine for two decades while plant rats drove her around in the golf cart (semiconductor and pharma manufacturing).

Obviously the golf cart and bunny suit are not done at the same time… Not unless you’re Intel I guess. There were whole weeks she would spend her whole workweek in the clean room deploying IT or process automation technology, training operators, debugging issues, etc.

that type of work sounds like fun. i just wanna be in a variety of environments doing different things.
