What are some careers that involve working with children other than teaching?

School psychologist. School Counselor. Sport Coach. Private tutor. Camp counselor. Speech and Language Therapist. Physical Therapist. Occupational Therapist. Pediatrician. Licensed Social Worker. Employees of various public health services that work with children.

Marketing in the toy industry. Focus group research for companies developing and testing new toys and electronic games. Haircutter. Dentist with specialty in children’s dentistry. Clown or circus performer. Clothing designer. Nutritionist/dietition. Behavior therapist for preschool children with autism (although that’s really teaching, just one-on-one in homes rather than in classrooms).

Attorney Ad Litum (in a child custody case, this is the lawyer, appointed by the state, who represents only the child, not either parent, and speaks for what’s “in the child’s best interest” in court testimony, advises on terms of custody in the settlement of the divorce case). Perhaps there’s also a paralegal specialty in this area.

You have to define “work with kids.” Besides teacher, here are a few that I can think of that involve interacting with kids: orthodontist, pediatrician, work at/for a theme park.

I agree that you need to identify what work you want to do, then define your audience.
Much of the work " with children", really means working " at them " or to benefit them, but not really working “with” them, if that makes sense.
