Joel Burns 'It Gets Better' must-see speech

Fort Worth (TX) city council member Joel Burns made a great speech at a city council meeting. I’m not gay and I’ve never even really been bullied but this still made me cry. If you search on youtube “joel burns it gets better”, and have a spare 13 minutes, please watch it.

I appreciate you posting it as well. What a courageous man.

Diane Sawyer just did a report on this on the evening news and played the speech. Good for him.

As a resident of Fort Worth, I am SO proud that this came from one of my Council members. Such an inspirational speech and an amazing message.

Here’s a link to a CNN interview he did yesterday. I had not previously heard of this - and just watched his entire speech before the city council and the CNN interview. very powerful, very moving - I hope it brings about some changes.
