@itgirl2020 What does the e-mail indicate?
@ata2020 The email contains the link to a form (to re-confirm interest in remaining on the waitlist).
@itgirl2020 Thanks! So it looks like everyone is not getting this e-mail, as we have not received it.
When do you guys think Hopkins will start sending waitlist offers?
@athena234 Pretty sure it will be soon, since HYPSM waitlist decisions come out around May 1st. There’ll be some movement.
I just saw this thread and got the form. It was in my promotions folder so I didn’t see it until today. I filled it out and sent an email to AO and the JHU admissions office. The deadline was yesterday at 11:59 PM but I still got a confirmation? Do you think the confirmation is still valid even though I submitted a day late? Thanks for the help guys.
@throwaway251, sorry to hear that you noticed that it was in your promotions folder a day late. In fact I had posted earlier asking everyone to check promotions folder. It is about your continued interest and you have expressed it by filling out the form. Now let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope they do not consider the timeline against you. I truly hope they do not. Good luck!!!
Should everyone have received this? We have checked in spam etc., and do not have it.
When do you guys think the waitlist acceptances will come out? Everyone is saying with corona that waitlist acceptances have gone up significantly for public schools, but what about for private schools? I really want to go to Hopkins, but I feel like it’s going to be 2 kids that get off…
@Satanna tbh I’m just keeping my expectations low since they barely admitted anyone off last year, but who knows? Things may be different this year
@ata2020 I have no idea how many students from the waitlist were sent an email. Sorry to hear that you did not receive one. Hope you are happy with the University you committed to. Good luck and take care!!!
DD did receive the e-mail. We were not able to coorelate the timing to when it was mentioned on this forum. We received another e-mail yesterday from JHU thanking for demonstrating strong interest and that they will start deciding on Monday, on a rolling basis.
Since she is waitlisted at Vandy as well, they are on a 2nd wave of acceptances already and today another “interest validation” e-mail was sent.
@ata2020 Just wanted to clarify–you said JHU will start deciding on Monday on rolling basis? Does that mean they are releasing acceptances in waves? (based on who demonstrated interest first) Thanks!
WAIT. So they are starting to send out acceptances tomorrow? Also, was there a SECOND interest email? I received an email to confirm interest again by the 29th and I did, but there was another email that was sent today? If there was, I didn’t get it.
@ata2020 was this notification of starting decisions on Monday a standardized one sent to many people, or a response to your own direct query to the admissions office?
@itgirl2020 @Santanna @Student235
The e-mail seems to have gone to all, below is the actual text of the e-mail. We received on 5/2 @ 1PM EST
Please Note: This message is sent to all Johns Hopkins University Applicants who have
been placed on the Waitlist. This message is not an indication of admission status.
I would like to thank you for showing continued interest in Johns Hopkins University’s
Waitlist Process by completing all the required and recommended steps and
demonstrating strong interest. We will begin a thorough analysis of waitlist applicants and corresponding materials starting Monday, May 4, 2020.
What To Expect
While this process is done on a rolling basis, we plan on releasing decisions as soon as
possible in an attempt to release all decisions prior to June 1, 2020. If there are any
questions of concerns please email applyhelp@jhu.edu. We have informed your high
school counselor that you have been placed on the waitlist.
Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions.
It’s reassuring that the email says it was sent to all waitlisted people! I completed my LOC and other rec steps, but I didn’t this email today. Hopefully it comes soon or else that means it’s over…
Double checked email and didn’t receive this latest one either so it can’t have been sent to all waitlisted people who received the first waitlist confirmation text/email. LOCI and updated resume were sent in, plus AO replied to an email sent and said it had been added to the application. Also, haven’t seen any mentions of the second email on A2C on reddit. Good luck to everyone tomorrow if that’s when decisions will start rolling! (Also, just out of interest, why would they inform your high school counselor that you’ve been placed on the waitlist? Am I missing something here?)
I got the first email but I didn’t receive the second one
