@ohnoitsme they said “among those admitted” im so confused…
they’re literally falsely using me for clout
@throwaway0324 is this really you…“a scholar whose research focuses on the ideological strategies used by ISIS to recruit women”…and presented it to the UN?
Note: I’m a parent of an alumni, so I follow JHU.
I’ve got angst! Anyone have any idea if the JH notification emails start with a header which says Congratulations if the applicant got in?
no email, only update from portal
So my daughter was accepted, but as we expected the financial aid offer makes it cost-prohibitive for us, so she’s going to have to decline and go with a more affordable alternative.
For anyone reading this that hasn’t gotten to their senior year yet: I hope that my case shows you that you don’t need to have a completely perfect application to get in. My essays were true to myself and my letters of rec were from teachers whose classes I knew I performed well in and was overall a good influence to the class (one junior year teacher, one senior year teacher). Sometimes, we spend so much time on CC that it seems like every student has started their own foundation, cured a disease, and have perfect scores. I thought had no chance of getting in, since my subject tests are a very lacking part of my application in my opinion (710 in math 2, while applying to be a physics major), and I am not valedictorian or a medalist in any club (have Science Olympiad medals now, but not at the time of applying).
This is very exciting for me, and I’m glad that Hopkins saw something in me. Currently, I do plan on packing my bags and heading to Baltimore in the fall!
Accepted! There were no financial updates either.
@throwaway0324 i’m sure that if you wanted, you could probably get it taken down, especially because they didn’t accept you. You have nothing to lose

Rejected, but not sad, because JHU campus has a very high crime rate, do not want to risk life there.
@capcase First you slammed WashU and now you are going after JHU. What a surprise! Take the rejection and move on.
Rejected! Gpa 4.38, act 34, good ECs… oh well.
Rejected! GPA 4.35, SAT 1510, not-so-bad ECs, ensure → insure typo on my essay. Don’t make typos guys. I think my essay did a major job on dropping me cuz I got waitlisted from UChicago that has a lower acceptance rate.
Accepted! IB Predicted- 44/45, SAT- 1560, Wrote paper and did research on cancer epigenetics, Lots of community involvement- featured in newspaper.
This year JHU issued 1922 admirts¹. in RD 400++ lesser than last year. Not sure if this is due to Corona

I am in-state and a lot of kids from my school applied so I am not super upset.
Does anyone know the acceptance rate of the waitlist?
@TANVI2002 that seems odd, how do you know that? Do you think that may affect waitlist numbers as well?
@EconGeek20 I was also accepted with the Hodson Scholarship! I didn’t expect to get in, let alone receive a scholarship.
