@LexieA here are some of my stats:

I’m a bio major fyi.

@yalebound2020 @Anonymoose3 guys if you don’t mind can you please post your stats?

@waddups , what was/is your GPA. My white male S1 applied with a 33 ACT (non-superscored) and got an outright rejection. JHU was his 4th reject in past week (Northwestern, too). 3.8 uwGPA and 4.07 wGPA. All honors and AP classes, including AP Calculus, AP CompSci, two additional college-level CompSci classes, dual enrollment Psychology and Physics (at Ohio State), and AP US History.

Accepted international!
SAT: 2240
GPA: 3.96

LOL guys ignore my post from above. I meant to post this in the UCLA thread

rejected (international)… accepted to WashU, Northwestern and Harvey Mudd though. Gahh JHU was one of the schools i reeeally wanted to go to but i guess nobody can expect how admissions would turn out. i’m just hoping all the best for ivy day

Anyone going to SOHOP?

@CamsDad Yeah, it sucks. My S had almost identical course load and GPA and a 35 ACT (superstore 36) and also rejected JHU, waitlisted at Wash U, and rejected at BU. Has other acceptances, but it is truly so competitive. Really, though, if you hang out here on CC, it shouldn’t be a surprise to us at all.

@CamsDad

3.92 UW GPA, ranked 1st in my class. My school is tiny, without a lot of opportunities, but I took full advantage of what was had to offer. I also have one unique EC that is activism related (I will keep it anonymous for privacy reasons), but it’s not huge like an international award or olympic medal, or anything. My essays were great too. My essays are probably what got me in. I also had no SAT IIs. Also, my subsections for the ACT were really strong with the exception of science (35 E, 35 M, 34 R, 27 S), so the 33 may be misleading even though it really is a 33.

With nearly 30,000 applications, and most of them being qualified, it’s really hard to pick 2-3,000. His rejection means absolutely NOTHING. He just wasn’t lucky enough - that’s it. I am 100% confident that luck is a huge factor with schools like these, especially if you are unhooked or “normal” by college confidential standards.

ACCEPTED WITH EXTREMELY GENEROUS FINANCIAL AID!!! I still feel like I’m dreaming. This year, the acceptance rate was 11.4% y’all. I thought for sure that I would be rejected!

I honestly believe it’s my essays that got me in because my stats aren’t as amazing as others. 31 ACT and 3.75 UW GPA. Only took 6 APs throughout high school. Just goes to show you that the admissions process is truly holistic! Oh also, I’m African-American. Congrats to everyone that made it!!!

little late but accepted from vermont

Accepted! More generous financial aid than Amherst College which was a huge but exciting surprise. Got a need based scholarship in addition to the need-based grant, about 14k over the course of four years, just so that I shouldn’t have to take out the anticipated loans.
Stats: 2130 SAT, 7 AP, 4.61 GPA (on a really weird scale that is technically 5.33 but no one ever surpasses a 5.0, idk just ignore the GPA cause it doesn’t translate well to other schools). 7 AP Classes, president of 2 clubs (founded one), part time job, varsity athlete three years in a row, varsity robotics club two years in a row, bla bla bla etc. Undecided but wrote in my “why hopkins” about my love for biology & sociology and how I could potentially combine the two at Hopkins.

D rejected @ JHU but likely letter from Cornell!

D got accepted to BME with Hodson Scholarship.

Can anyone tell me what the 'likely" letter from Cornell says??

@Blueskies2020 - It varies! There’s one for URM, one for Women in Engineering, and one for those chosen as scholars.
