Rejected with ACT-35 and excellent GPA - but accepted in UCLA
1480 sat , 4.1 gpa, GREAT EC’s (pro soccer player, founder of nonprofit organization, peace leader, science research leader etc…), and 9/10 essays, but rejected. I figured there must have been a turn off somewhere in my app. If anyone could help me find where I might be lacking, please do. It’s bugging me and I’m bummed
Hello. I don’t think there is anything positive that could come out of obsessing over what caused a rejection. I think the best way to view it is that there is nothing that was a “turn off”, the applicant pool was just very competitive, and the app may not have spoken to enough people. The admissions process is very subjective, and with a 13 % acceptance rate, they must reject many qualified people. Please don’t think you did anything wrong. It looks like you’ve accomplished great things, and I hope your application will strike the right people, and that you get into a school you love. Where you go does not define you, it’s what you choose to make of the resources you have. This sounds really cliche and often does not comfort immediately after rejection, but I think you’ll find that it’s true once you fall in love with wherever you choose to go in the fall. Good luck
Pretty shocked I was rejected. Probably because so many more qualified people from my school applied + got in. I don’t care- I got into better schools… LOL

for admitted students, has anyone been able to arrange travel for discovery days and sohop? for some reason the link to connect with the travel agent isn’t working for me
The same thing happened to me! @lanaweid
I emailed them about this and they haven’t gotten back to me.
i also emailed them and just received a response today @lievee123 apparently there was an issue with the link
Accepted! How difficult is Johns Hopkins? Is there grade deflation?
Hi, I was waitlisted last year and am at Hopkins now. Found out about mid-May that I was accepted off waitlist. If Hopkins really is your top school or one of them make sure to send them an updated letter and show continued interest. This I believe was my saving grace. My college counselor in high school called Hopkins admissions to speak on my behalf and they mentioned to her receiving my letter, so take that for what you will. Good luck!
@lanaweid Yeah I got a response from them too. When you got the new link, did it say “registration not available”?
Yes! @livee123 exact same situation, I emailed them again after that and this time the link worked
@lanaweid The link worked for you? I just tried again and it said the exact same thing. Did they send you a new link?
did you email them again? @lievee123 i’m pretty sure the admissions ppl did something on their side that made the link work the second time
Yeah, it works now. @lanaweid
