This is the official discussion thread for Johns Hopkins Class of 2030 RD applicants. Ask your questions and connect with fellow applicants.
My son applied RD. Today, got a request for IDOC document submission. Seems that is for FA. Is that a good sign? Or they sent request to all applicants?
My DD applied RD and we also got a request for further financial information. I read on the Facebook Hopkins ED2 thread that a student was asked to provide additional information similar to what we were asked and then rejected. It seems like they finished ED2 Feb 13 and are now focused on the RD applicants. My DD has a Ga Tech deferral and an acceptance to at UMD (Honors) in engineering.
Thanks for the info. Seems they request that for all applicants. Best luck to all!
what if i was not requested for IDOC ![]()
got one yesterday, which is ~a week before decisions drop. kinda nervous not sure what it means
I went onto the student’s version of Slate and found that my Hopkins status has changed to Application Decided which means they’ve made a decision on my application. But I haven’t receive any email from them and up until a few days ago it was still Application Complete and never went to Application Under review or Awaiting decisions like a few of my other schools. Is it wraps for me ![]()

Does yours say application decided: decisioned. Or nah?
yeah mine says application decided for Hopkins, but it never went to under review or awaiting decisions like some other schools
Looks like RD drops tomorrow at 3. Good luck all!
Did anyone else’s application status page get replaced by 2 paragraphs of text (no checklist or upload dropdown)? Am i cooked?
I’m pretty sure that’s what happens when they load decisions in your portal. It’s not indicative of anything negative or positive.
okay…fingers crossed! and thanks ![]()
T minus 23 minutes…..Aargh! Good luck everyone.

Waitlisted for Mechanical Engineering…Surprised unless applicant pool is really big as SATs, grades, extra curriculars, etc are all outstanding and essays were solid. Got in at much higher ranked ME schools, so not a big loss, but was on the list of wanting this choice available due to spending time on campus for a summer and liking it.
My DD was waitlisted for ME as well. Took an undergraduate BME class last summer and earned 3 college credits. She has some other great options.
Are there that many schools ranked higher than JHU for ME? Not being snarky just curious as I thought I’ve seen it ranked top 10-20.
Got our first rejection here.
Waitlist with BME first choice, mechanical engineering second. 4.0UW, 4.57W, 1540. Happy it’s not a rejection!
