I recieved a Johnston Shoalrship but the UNC website is somewhat vague about the nature of the award. If anyone is familiar with the program, I have two questions:

“Faculty mentors, Johnston Honors Seminars, and special leadership activities are included as part of the Johnston Scholars Program.”
Are the mentors useful, the seminars good classes, or the activities substantial? Basically, are the non-monetary benefits substantial or just extras?

2 “The Johnston Scholarship also covers additional expenses associated with UNC-sponsored Study Abroad programs.”
I’m not sure what this means. Does this mean they’ll pay for study abroad, they’ll pay for the potato chips I eat while studying abroad, or something in between?

Thanks
