Hello, I was wondering if joint engineering + MBA programs usually require 5 years work experience like most other straight MBA programs?

Uh, no. Most top straight programs do not “require” 5 years of work experience. In fact, most of them don’t “require” any work experience at all, it’s just that you are highly highly unlikely to get into one without any work experience. The more experience you have, the more likely you will get in.

However, if you are asking whether there is a difference in average experience levels of those entering dual programs and those entering straight programs, then the answer is ‘not really’. For example, the average experience of entering LFM students is basically the same (sometimes a little higher) than that of entering Sloan students. Same is true for MMM and Kellogg.
