I am saddened by this. I really like his show, and the fact that he calls out hypocrisy on both sides. Since he had to leave, I wish it would’ve been last summer, when John Oliver was filling in for him. Now he has gone on to host his own show on HBO. He actually was just as good as Stewart. I cant imagine who else could fill his shoes. His facial expressions and timing are hilarious!

I was devastated to hear this yesterday. I’m surprised mostly because it comes on the heels of Colbert leaving, too. But they’ve both certainly put in their time and deserve to move on to whatever else they want for their careers and future, so I wish them both well in their next endeavors.
EK4 - it would be nice to see a woman in that position.
EK4, my daughter loves Park and Recreation, and I just dont like it. Ive tried to watch it, but Im not a fan. I soooo wish John Oliver could come back. He was really good when filling in for Stewart.
I went to a Daily Show taping a few years ago. Coincidentally, Brian Williams was the guest.
I love Parks and Rec, but don’t know about Amy Poehler as the new host. I saw a suggestion for Joel McHale. I’ve seen him on The Soup a few times and he might be good.
Who ever it is, I hope the approach of the show stays the same. While Larry Willmore is ok, I miss the character Stephen Colbert brought us.
First Stephen Colbert, now this. Grrrr. Where will I go for my doses of truthiness and faux news?
John Oliver’s show on HBO is really good though, and I like him more on HBO than I did when he guest-hosted for Stewart.

I agree hayden, How can we watch 2016 without someone blatantly telling us about the candidates blunders. I have seen several tapings of The Daily show and have tickets for a March one. I like how Jon is funny and earnest and cynical at the same time.
I just watched the speech he gave- not sure what to make of it- burned out I guess is what he is saying.
His humor and quick wit is one of a kind. Looking forward to see where it will appear next.
I love it when he shows a clip of someone saying “I NEVER said blah blah blah,” only to follow it up with a clip of said liar saying “blah blah blah” verbatim. This is always followed by one of his hilarious facial expressions. 
I absolutely love Jon Stewart, but I have to admit that I’ve been feeling like he’s “dialing it in” ever since Rosewater. I hope the next stage of his adventure is wonderful. (And I’m going to be bereft without Colbert and Stewart…)

that was funny. I always love it when people lose it. OMG Tim Conway and Harvey Korman had some moments like that, though minus the banana humor.
