Journalism program

How is the journalism and mass comm program? I’m a junior, but curious about the school.

I want to expand after college and work as a news analyst at a broadcasting system, and from there i plan to work my way up the ladder.

ps:

I’m from irvine, cal.

So, I’m not that familiar with the sacramento area…

how is life? Lol. I don’t mean to sound blunt, but just curious as to how life/ campus life on UCD is.

I’m contemplating whether i should just attend uci or ucd (if i get the chance of course. ha)

UCD doesn’t have a journalism major. But as an English major, I can vouch for the strength of the English department. It is very good.

Communications is a popular major here, but I can’t tell you how good it is.

Life at UCD is great. Quaint, safe little town, generally nice people…it’s pretty good times. I love it a lot.

None of the UCs have a journalism or mass communication program for undergraduates. There is a graduate school of journalism at Berkeley. Most successful journalists will tell you not to major in journalism anyway… it’s all about developing a really broad background and having a lot of diverse life experiences. It’s a craft, not a profession, so taking classes is not the most effective way of learning how to do it well.
